I might say to the grave,\par ‘You are my father,’\par and to the worms,\par ‘My mother,’ or ‘My sister.’\par


I am lonely\par like an owl living in the desert.\par I am alone like an owl\par living in old ruined buildings.\par


I can’t sleep.\par I am like a lonely bird on a roof.\par


But, God, you crushed us in this place\par where jackals {\cf2\super [268]} live.\par You left us in this place\par as dark as death.\par


Thorns and wild bushes will grow in all the beautiful homes there. Wild dogs and owls will live in those homes. Wild animals will make their homes there. Big birds will live in the grasses that grow there.


I cried like a dove.\par I cried like a bird.\par My eyes became tired,\par but I continued looking to the heavens.\par My Master, I am so depressed.\par Promise to help me.”\par
