The priests were killed,\par but the widows did not cry for them.\par
But it will be very bad for the evil people. Much trouble will come to them. They will be punished for all the wrong things they have done.
“You people of Judah, go now to the town of Shiloh. Go to the place where I first made a house for my name. The people of Israel also did evil things. Go and see what I did to that place because of the evil things they did. {\cf2\super [59]}
The time is coming when I will destroy all your descendants. [31] No one in your family will live to be an old man.
Good things will happen to Israel, but you will see bad things happening at home. [32] No one in your family will live to be an old man.
I will give you a sign {to show these things will come true}. Your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, will die on the same day.
I will do everything I said I would do against Eli and his family. I will do everything from the beginning to the end.
And the Lord continued to appear to Samuel at Shiloh. The Lord revealed himself to Samuel as the word of the Lord. [39]
