Ben Hadad said to him, “Ahab, I will give you the towns that my father took from your father. And you can put shops in Damascus, like my father did in Samaria.”


“I see that Ahab has become humble before me. So, I will not cause the trouble to come to him during his life. I will wait until his son is king. Then I will cause the trouble to come to Ahab’s family.”


Then, during the third year, King Jehoshaphat of Judah went to visit King Ahab of Israel.


The king of Aram was making war against Israel. He had a council meeting with his army officers. He said, “Hide in this place {and attack the Israelites when they come by}.”
