Cain said to his brother Abel, ‘Let’s go out to the field.’  And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.


The one who lives with integrity lives securely, but whoever perverts his ways will be found out.


In the same way, on the outside you seem righteous to people, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.


For nothing is concealed that won’t be revealed, and nothing hidden that won’t be made known and brought to light.


Saul told David, ‘Here is my eldest daughter Merab. I’ll give her to you as a wife  if you will be a warrior for me and fight the Lord’s battles.’  But Saul was thinking, ‘I don’t need to raise a hand against him; let the hand of the Philistines be against him.’


‘I’ll give her to him,’ Saul thought. ‘She’ll be a trap for him, and the hand of the Philistines will be against him.’  So Saul said to David a second time, ‘You can now be my son-in-law.’
