Then Peter said to Jesus, ‘Lord, it’s good for us to be here. If you want, I will set up three shelters here: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.’
Jesus said to them, ‘You don’t know what you’re asking. Are you able to drink the cup I drink or to be baptised with the baptism I am baptised with? ’
‘Master,’ Simon replied, ‘we’ve worked hard all night long and caught nothing. But if you say so, I’ll let down the nets.’
While he was saying this, a cloud appeared and overshadowed them. They became afraid as they entered the cloud.
John responded, ‘Master, we saw someone driving out demons in your name, and we tried to stop him because he does not follow us.’
For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness’, has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of God’s glory in the face of Jesus Christ.
