Sarai said to Abram, ‘Since the Lord has prevented me from bearing children, go to my slave; perhaps through her I can build a family.’ And Abram agreed to what Sarai said.


for the Lord had completely closed all the wombs in Abimelech’s household on account of Sarah, Abraham’s wife.


Isaac prayed to the Lord on behalf of his wife because she was childless.  The Lord was receptive to his prayer, and his wife Rebekah conceived.


When the Lord saw that Leah was neglected,  he opened her womb;  but Rachel was unable to conceive.


Then Jacob became incensed and brought charges against Laban. ‘What is my crime? ’ he said to Laban. ‘What is my sin, that you have pursued me?


But Joseph said to them, ‘Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God?


When the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his clothes  and asked, ‘Am I God,  killing and giving life, that this man expects me to cure a man of his skin disease? Recognise  that he is only picking a fight with me.’


As he approached the camp and saw the calf and the dancing, Moses became enraged and threw the tablets out of his hands, smashing them at the base of the mountain.


But I tell you, everyone who is angry with his brother or sister   will be subject to judgement. Whoever insults   his brother or sister will be subject to the court.   Whoever says, “You fool! ” will be subject to hellfire.   ,


After looking round at them with anger,  he was grieved at the hardness  of their hearts and told the man, ‘Stretch out your hand.’ So he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.


Then she exclaimed with a loud cry, ‘Blessed are you among women, and your child will be blessed!


Be angry and do not sin.   , Don’t let the sun go down on your anger,


But he gave a double  portion  to Hannah, for he loved her even though the Lord had kept her from conceiving.
