When morning came, he was troubled,  so he summoned all the magicians of Egypt and all its wise men.  Pharaoh told them his dreams, but no one could interpret them for him.


The king consulted the wise men  who understood the times,  , for it was his normal procedure to confer with experts in law and justice.


But then Pharaoh called the wise men and sorcerers #– #the magicians  of Egypt, and they also did the same thing by their occult practices.


Egypt’s spirit will be disturbed within it, and I will frustrate its plans. Then they will enquire of worthless idols, ghosts, mediums, and spiritists.


When they say to you, ‘Enquire of the mediums and the spiritists who chirp and mutter,’  shouldn’t a people enquire of their God?  Should they enquire of the dead on behalf of the living?


In every matter of wisdom and understanding that the king consulted them about, he found them ten times  , better than all the magicians and mediums  in his entire kingdom.


young men without any physical defect, good-looking, suitable for instruction in all wisdom,  knowledgeable, perceptive, and capable of serving in the king’s palace.  He was to teach them the Chaldean language  and literature.


The Chaldeans answered the king, ‘No one on earth can make known what the king requests.  Consequently, no king, however great and powerful, has ever asked anything like this of any magician, medium, or Chaldean.


Daniel answered the king, ‘No wise man, medium, magician, or diviner  is able to make known to the king the mystery he asked about.


Some Chaldeans  took this occasion to come forward and maliciously accuse  , the Jews.


How great are his miracles, and how mighty his wonders! His kingdom is an eternal kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.


So I issued a decree  to bring all the wise men of Babylon to me in order that they might make the dream’s interpretation known to me.


The king shouted to bring in the mediums, Chaldeans, and diviners. He said to these wise men of Babylon, ‘Whoever reads this inscription and gives me its interpretation will be clothed in purple, have a gold chain round his neck,  and have the third highest position in the kingdom.’


the Philistines summoned the priests and the diviners  and pleaded, ‘What should we do with the ark of the Lord? Tell us how we can send it back to its place.’
