In the ninth year of Hoshea,  the king of Assyria captured Samaria. He deported  the Israelites to Assyria and settled them in Halah, along the Habor (Gozan’s river), and in the cities of the Medes.


How dare you prophesy in the name of the Lord, “This temple will become like Shiloh and this city will become an uninhabited ruin”! ’ Then all the people crowded around Jeremiah at the Lord’s temple.


When they had heard all the words, they turned to each other in fear and said to Baruch, ‘We must surely tell the king all these things.’


The words of Amos, who was one of the sheep breeders  , from Tekoa   #– #what he saw regarding Israel in the days of King Uzziah  of Judah and Jeroboam  son of Jehoash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.


Amaziah the priest  of Bethel sent word to King Jeroboam of Israel, saying, ‘Amos has conspired against you  right here in the house of Israel. The land cannot endure all his words,


Then Amaziah said to Amos, ‘Go away, you seer!  Flee to the land of Judah. Earn your living  and give your prophecies there,


Isaac’s high places  will be deserted, and Israel’s sanctuaries will be in ruins; I will rise up against the house of Jeroboam with a sword.’


Shave yourselves bald and cut off your hair in sorrow for your precious children; make yourselves as bald as an eagle, for they have been taken from you into exile.


stated, ‘This man said, “I can destroy the temple of God  and rebuild it in three days.” ’


For we heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs that Moses handed down to us.’
