And all the prophets were prophesying the same, saying, ‘March up to Ramoth-gilead and succeed, for the Lord will hand it over to the king.’


But Micaiah said, ‘As the Lord lives, I will say whatever my God says.’  ,


Yet you say, ‘What does God know? Can he judge through total darkness?


They say to the seers, ‘Do not see,’ and to the prophets, ‘Do not prophesy the truth to us. Tell us flattering things. Prophesy illusions.


They please the king with their evil, the princes with their lies.


but don’t ever prophesy  at Bethel again, for it is the king’s sanctuary  and a royal temple.’


If a man comes and utters empty lies    – ‘I will preach to you about wine and beer’   – he would be just the preacher for this people!


‘Abandon your preaching,’  they   preach. ‘They should not preach these things; shame will not overtake us.’  ,


they formed a unified alliance to fight against Joshua and Israel.
