This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;


Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.


And when king David came to Bahurim, behold, there came out thence a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera; he came out, and cursed still as he came.


But Abishai the son of Zeruiah answered and said, Shall not Shimei be put to death for this, because he cursed Jehovah's anointed?


Wherefore David blessed Jehovah before all the assembly; and David said, Blessed be thou, O Jehovah, the God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.


And David said to all the assembly, Now bless Jehovah your God. And all the assembly blessed Jehovah, the God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshipped Jehovah, and the king.


His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression:\par\tab Under his tongue is mischief and iniquity.


{\b A Song, a Psalm of David.}\par\par\tab My heart is fixed, O God;\par\tab I will sing, yea, I will sing praises, even with my glory.

To the end that {\i my} glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent.\par\tab O Jehovah my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.\par


{\b {\i A Psalm} of David; when he changed his behavior before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed.}\par\par\tab I will bless Jehovah at all times:\par\tab His praise shall continually be in my mouth.


And my tongue shall talk of thy righteousness\par\tab {\i And} of thy praise all the day long.\par


Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation;\par\tab {\i And} my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.


Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp:\par\tab I myself will awake right early.


{\i For} the sin of their mouth, {\i and} the words of their lips,\par\tab Let them even be taken in their pride,\par\tab And for cursing and lying which they speak.


They only consult to thrust him down from his dignity;\par\tab They delight in lies;\par\tab They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. {\i Selah


So will I bless thee while I live:\par\tab I will lift up my hands in thy name.


My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long;\par\tab For they are put to shame, for they are confounded, that seek my hurt.\par


for oftentimes also thine own heart knoweth that thou thyself likewise hast cursed others.\par


And the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw nigh {\i unto me}, and with their mouth and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment of men which hath been taught {\i them};


Then began he to curse and to swear, I know not the man. And straightway the cock crew.


but I say unto you, Love your enemies, and pray for them that persecute you;


{\b Therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced;\par\tab Moreover my flesh also shall dwell in hope:}


{\b Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:}


For a man indeed ought not to have his head veiled, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.


Blessed {\i be} the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly {\i places} in Christ:


Pure religion and undefiled before {\i our} God and Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, {\i and} to keep oneself unspotted from the world.\par


out of the same mouth cometh forth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.


Blessed {\i be} the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy begat us again unto a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,


And they went out into the field, and gathered their vineyards, and trod the grapes, and held festival, and went into the house of their god, and did eat and drink, and cursed Abimelech.
