The snares of death encompassed me; the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me; I suffered distress and anguish.


Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise him, my help


I had put off my garment; how could I put it on again? I had bathed my feet; how could I soil them?


Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him with affliction. When you make his life an offering for sin, he shall see his offspring and shall prolong his days; through him the will of the Lord shall prosper.


Therefore I will allot him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he poured out himself to death and was numbered with the transgressors, yet he bore the sin of many and made intercession for the transgressors.


He was despised and rejected by others; a man of suffering and acquainted with infirmity, and as one from whom others hide their faces he was despised, and we held him of no account.


Keep awake, therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.


And he said to them, “My soul is deeply grieved, even to death; remain here, and keep awake.”


“Now my soul is troubled. And what should I say: ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it is for this reason that I have come to this hour.


He who did not withhold his own Son but gave him up for all of us, how will he not with him also give us everything else?


For our sake God made the one who knew no sin to be sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.


Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”—


He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that, having died to sins, we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.


For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, in order to bring you to God. He was put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,


The end of all things is near; therefore be serious and discipline yourselves for the sake of your prayers.
