At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”


and said, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.


Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.


But it is not so among you; instead, whoever wishes to become great among you must be your servant,


But they were silent, for on the way they had argued with one another who was the greatest.


For all who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”


and said to them, “Whoever welcomes this child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me, for the least among all of you is the greatest.”


Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.


In the same way, you who are younger must be subject to the elders. And all of you must clothe yourselves with humility in your dealings with one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
