Then I cutin piecesmy secondstaffUnion,to breakthe brotherhoodbetweenJudahand Israel.
Manasseh[devours] Ephraim,and EphraimManasseh,[And] togetherthey are againstJudah.In [spite of] allthis,His angerdoes not turnawayAnd His handis stillstretchedout.
For wherejealousyand selfish ambitionexist, thereis disorderand everyevilthing.
But ifyou havebitterjealousyand selfish ambitionin your heart,do not be arrogantand [so] lieagainstthe truth.
But ifyou biteand devouroneanother,take carethat you are not consumedby one another.
"At that timemanywill fall awayand will betrayoneanotherand hateone another.
Then I said,"I will not pastureyou. What is to die,let it die,and what is to be annihilated,let it be annihilated;and let those who are lefteatoneanother'sflesh."
So I pasturedthe flock[doomed] to slaughter,hencethe afflictedof the flock.And I tookfor myself twostaffs:the oneI calledFavorand the otherI calledUnion;so I pasturedthe flock.
Then the jealousyof Ephraimwill depart,And those who harassJudahwill be cutoff;Ephraimwill not be jealousof Judah,And Judahwill not harassEphraim.
"For I will nolongerhavepityon the inhabitantsof the land,"declaresthe LORD;"but behold,I will cause the mento fall,eachinto another'spowerand into the powerof his king;and they will strikethe land,and I will not deliver[them] from their power."
and I will makethem onenationin the land,on the mountainsof Israel;and onekingwill be kingfor allof them; and they will nolongerbe twonationsand nolongerbe dividedinto twokingdoms.
"Ifa kingdomis dividedagainstitself,that kingdomcannotstand.
