But Ittaiansweredthe kingand said,"As the LORDlives,and as my lordthe kinglives,surelywherevermy lordthe kingmay be, whetherfor deathorfor life,therealsoyour servantwill be."
"Sayto Amasa,'Are you not my boneand my flesh?May Goddosoto me, and morealso,ifyou will not be commanderof the armybeforeme continuallyin placeof Joab.'"
Then allthe peoplecameto persuade Davidto eatbreadwhile it was stillday;but Davidvowed,saying,"May Goddosoto me, and morealso,ifI tastebreadoranythingelsebeforethe sungoesdown."
"May Goddosoto Abner,and morealso,ifas the LORDhas swornto David,I do not accomplishthisfor him,
Afterhe had buriedhim, he spoketo his sons,saying,"When I die,buryme in the gravein whichthe manof Godis buried;laymy bonesbesidehis bones.
Then Jezebelsenta messengerto Elijah,saying,"Somay the godsdoto me and evenmore,ifI do not makeyour lifeas the lifeof oneof them by tomorrowabout this time."
Then KingSolomonsworeby the LORD,saying,"May Goddosoto me and morealso,ifAdonijahhas not spokenthiswordagainst his own life.
Ben-hadadsentto him and said,"May the godsdosoto me and morealso,ifthe dustof Samariawill sufficefor handfulsfor allthe peoplewhofollowme."
Then he said,"May Goddosoto me and morealso,ifthe headof Elishathe sonof Shaphatremainson him today."
Listen,O daughter,giveattentionand inclineyour ear:Forgetyour peopleand your father'shouse;
Then when he arrivedand witnessedthe graceof God,he rejoicedand [began] to encouragethem allwith resoluteheartto remain[true] to the Lord;
"But I do not considermy lifeof anyaccountas dearto myself,sothat I may finishmy courseand the ministrywhichI receivedfrom the LordJesus,to testify solemnlyof the gospelof the graceof God.
But Ruthsaid,"Do not urgeme to leaveyou [or] turnbackfrom followingyou; for whereyou go,I will go,and whereyou lodge,I will lodge.Your people[shall be] my people,and your God,my God.
"May he also be to you a restorerof lifeand a sustainerof your oldage;for your daughter-in-law,wholovesyou and is betterto you thansevensons,has givenbirthto him."
Saulsaid,"May Goddothis[to me] and morealso,for you shall surelydie,Jonathan."
"Ifit pleasemy father[to do] you harm,may the LORDdosoto Jonathanand morealso,if I do not makeit knownto you and sendyou away,that you may goin safety.And may the LORDbe with you as He has beenwith my father.
"May Goddosoto the enemiesof David,and morealso,ifby morningI leave[as much as] one maleof anywhobelong to him."
He said,"Whatis the wordthat He spoketo you? Pleasedo not hideit from me. May Goddosoto you, and morealso,ifyou hideanythingfrom me of allthe wordsthat He spoketo you."
