For sincethe creationof the worldHis invisibleattributes, His eternalpowerand divine nature,have been clearly seen,being understoodthrough what has been made,sothat they are without excuse.
In the beginningGodcreatedthe heavensand the earth.
[Abraham] planteda tamarisktreeat Beersheba,and therehe calledon the nameof the LORD,the EverlastingGod.
"But nowaskthe beasts,and let them teachyou; And the birdsof the heavens,and let them tellyou.
Let the gloryof the LORDendureforever;Let the LORDbe gladin His works;
He establishedthe earthupon its foundations,So that it will not totterforeverand ever.
Your faithfulness[continues] throughout allgenerations;You establishedthe earth,and it stands.
For You formedmy inwardparts;You woveme in my mother'swomb.
WhenI considerYour heavens,the workof Your fingers,The moonand the stars,whichYou have ordained;
Beforethe mountainswere bornOr You gavebirthto the earthand the world,Even from everlastingto everlasting,You are God.
"Trustin the LORDforever,For in GODthe LORD,[we have] an everlastingRock.
Liftup your eyeson highAnd seewhohas createdthese[stars], The One who leadsforththeir hostby number,He callsthem allby name;Becauseof the greatnessof His mightand the strengthof [His] power,Not one[of them] is missing.
For a childwill be bornto us, a sonwill be givento us; And the governmentwill reston His shoulders;And His namewill be calledWonderfulCounselor,MightyGod,EternalFather,Princeof Peace.
Nowhearthis,O foolishand senselesspeople,Who have eyesbut do not see;Who have earsbut do not hear.
[It is] He who madethe earthby His power,Who establishedthe worldby His wisdom,And by His understandingHe stretchedout the heavens.
sothat you may be sonsof your Fatherwhois in heaven;for He causesHis sunto riseon [the] eviland [the] good,and sends rainon [the] righteousand [the] unrighteous.
"But from the beginningof creation,[God] MADETHEM MALEAND FEMALE.
No onehas seenGodat any time;the only begottenGodwho is in the bosomof the Father,He has explained[Him].
"IfI had not comeand spokento them, they would not havesin,but nowthey havenoexcusefor their sin.
"Beingthenthe childrenof God,we oughtnot to thinkthat the Divine Natureis likegoldorsilverorstone,an image formedby the artand thoughtof man.
"Brethrenand fathers,hearmy defensewhich I now[offer] to you."
becausethat which is knownabout Godis evidentwithinthem; for Godmade it evidentto them.
but nowis manifested,and by the Scripturesof the prophets,accordingto the commandmentof the eternalGod,has been made knownto allthe nations,[leading] to obedienceof faith;
Thereforeyou haveno excuse,everyoneof you who passesjudgment,for in that whichyou judgeanother,you condemnyourself;for you who judgepracticethe same things.
in that they showthe workof the Lawwrittenin their hearts,their consciencebearing witnessand their thoughtsalternatelyaccusingorelsedefendingthem,
Whereis the wise man?Whereis the scribe?Whereis the debaterof thisage?Has not Godmade foolishthe wisdomof the world?
"The eternalGodis a dwellingplace,And underneathare the everlastingarms;And He droveout the enemyfrom beforeyou, And said,'Destroy!'
"And [beware] not to liftup your eyesto heavenand seethe sunand the moonand the stars,allthe hostof heaven,and be drawnawayand worshipthem and servethem, those whichthe LORDyour Godhas allottedto allthe peoplesunderthe wholeheaven.
He is the imageof the invisibleGod,the firstbornof allcreation.
For in Him allthe fullnessof Deitydwellsin bodily form,
Nowto the Kingeternal,immortal,invisible,the onlyGod,[be] honorand gloryforeverand ever.Amen.
who alonepossessesimmortalityand dwellsin unapproachablelight,whomnomanhas seenorcansee.To Him [be] honorand eternaldominion!Amen.
By faithhe leftEgypt,not fearingthe wrathof the king;for he endured,as seeingHim who is unseen.
how muchmorewill the bloodof Christ,whothroughthe eternalSpiritofferedHimselfwithout blemishto God,cleanseyour consciencefrom deadworksto servethe livingGod?
