"Whocan openthe doorsof his face?Aroundhis teeththere is terror.
He lurksin a hidingplaceas a lionin his lair;He lurksto catchthe afflicted;He catchesthe afflictedwhen he drawshim into his net.
Lord,howlongwill You lookon? Rescuemy soulfrom their ravages,My only[life] from the lions.
O sendout Your lightand Your truth,let them leadme; Let them bringme to Your holyhillAnd to Your dwellingplaces.
Your tonguedevisesdestruction,Like a sharprazor,O workerof deceit.
His speechwas smootherthanbutter,But his heartwas war;His wordswere softerthanoil,Yet they were drawnswords.
O God,shattertheir teethin their mouth;Breakout the fangsof the younglions,O LORD.
Behold,they belchforthwith their mouth;Swordsare in their lips,For, [they say], "Whohears?"
Whohave sharpenedtheir tonguelike a sword.They aimedbitterspeech[as] their arrow,
Thereis one who speaksrashlylike the thrustsof a sword,But the tongueof the wisebringshealing.
[Like] a cluband a swordand a sharparrowIs a manwho bearsfalse~witnessagainst his neighbor.
[Like] a roaringlionand a rushingbearIs a wickedrulerovera poorpeople.
There is a kindof [man] whose teethare [like] swordsAnd his jawteeth[like] knives,To devourthe afflictedfrom the earthAnd the needyfrom among men.
And the tongueis a fire,the [very] worldof iniquity;the tongueis setamongour membersas that which defilesthe entirebody,and setson firethe courseof [our] life,and is set on fireby hell.
From His mouthcomesa sharpsword,sothat with it He may strike downthe nations,and He will rulethem with a rodof iron;and He treadsthe winepressof the fiercewrathof God,the Almighty.
"But ifnot, let firecomeout from Abimelechand consumethe menof Shechemand Beth-millo;and let firecomeout from the menof Shechemand from Beth-millo,and consumeAbimelech."
