Rescueme, O LORD,from evilmen;Preserveme from violentmen

Keepme, O LORD,from the handsof the wicked;Preserveme from violentmenWhohave purposedto tripup my feet.
For the enemyhas persecutedmy soul;He has crushedmy lifeto the ground;He has made me dwellin darkplaces,like those who have longbeen dead.
He deliversme from my enemies;SurelyYou liftme abovethose who riseup against me; You rescueme from the violentman.
Do not deliverme over to the desireof my adversaries,For false witnesseshave risenagainst me, And such as breatheout violence.
When evildoerscameupon me to devourmy flesh,My adversariesand my enemies,they stumbledand fell.
But my enemiesare vigorous[and] strong,And manyare those who hateme wrongfully.
And those who repayevilfor good,They opposeme, becauseI followwhatis good.
Your tonguedevisesdestruction,Like a sharprazor,O workerof deceit.
My foeshave trampledupon me alldaylong, For they are manywho fightproudlyagainst me.
My soulis amonglions;I must lieamong those who breatheforthfire,[Even] the sonsof men,whose teethare spearsand arrowsAnd their tonguea sharpsword.
O God,arrogantmenhave risenup againstme, And a bandof violentmenhave soughtmy life,And they have not setYou beforethem.
The chief priestsand the scribeswere seekinghowthey might put Him to death;for they were afraidof the people.
But they kept on insisting,saying,"He stirsup the people,teachingalloverJudea,startingfrom Galileeeven as faras this place."
