May the arrogantbe ashamed,for they subvertme with a lie;[But] I shall meditateon Your precepts.
But his delightis in the lawof the LORD,And in His lawhe meditatesdayand night.
They have also surroundedme with wordsof hatred,And foughtagainst me withoutcause.
I will meditateon Your preceptsAnd regardYour ways.
You rebukethe arrogant,the cursed,Who wanderfrom Your commandments.
Eventhough princessit[and] talkagainst me, Your servantmeditateson Your statutes.
The arrogantutterlyderideme, [Yet] I do not turnasidefrom Your law.
Indeed,noneof those who waitfor You will be ashamed;Those who dealtreacherouslywithoutcausewill be ashamed.
Let those be ashamedand humiliatedaltogetherwho rejoiceat my distress;Let those be clothedwith shameand dishonorwho magnifythemselves overme.
For withoutcausethey hidtheir netfor me; Withoutcausethey duga pitfor my soul.
Those who hateme withouta causeare morethanthe hairsof my head;Those who would destroyme are powerful,being wrongfullymy enemies;WhatI did not steal,I thenhave to restore.
"The arrogantone will stumbleand fallWith nooneto raisehim up; And I will setfireto his citiesAnd it will devourallhis environs."
"But [they have done this] to fulfillthe wordthat is writtenin their Law,THEY HATEDME WITHOUT A CAUSE.'
For whatcreditis there if,when you sinand are harshly treated,you endureit with patience?But ifwhen you do what is rightand suffer[for it] you patiently endureit, this[finds] favorwith God.
He saidto David,"You are morerighteousthanI; for you have dealtwellwith me, while I have dealtwickedlywith you.
He also said,"Whythenis my lordpursuinghis servant?For whathave I done?Or whatevilis in my hand?
