Charmis deceitfuland beautyis vain,[But] a womanwho fearsthe LORD,she shall be praised.
Now in allIsraelwas nooneas handsomeas Absalom,so highlypraised;from the soleof his footto the crownof his headthere was nodefectin him.
Praisethe LORD!How blessedis the manwho fearsthe LORD,Who greatlydelightsin His commandments.
The LORDfavorsthose who fearHim, Those who waitfor His lovingkindness.
The fearof the LORDis the beginningof knowledge;Foolsdespisewisdomand instruction.
A graciouswomanattainshonor,And ruthlessmenattainriches.
[As] a ringof goldin a swine'ssnout[So is] a beautifulwomanwho lacksdiscretion.
The rewardof humility[and] the fearof the LORDAre riches,honorand life.
"Manydaughtershave donenobly,But you excelthem all."
Giveher the productof her hands,And let her workspraiseher in the gates.
Do not desireher beautyin your heart,Norlet her captureyou with her eyelids.
"The fearof the LORDis to hateevil;Prideand arroganceand the evilwayAnd the pervertedmouth,I hate.
The conclusion,when allhas been heard,[is]: fearGodand keepHis commandments,becausethis[applies to] everyperson.
It is goodthat you grasponethingand alsonot letgoof the other;for the one who fearsGodcomesforthwith bothof them.
"But you trustedin your beautyand playedthe harlotbecauseof your fame,and you pouredout your harlotrieson everypasser-bywho might be [willing].
They were bothrighteousin the sightof God,walkingblamelesslyin allthe commandmentsand requirementsof the Lord.
But he is a Jewwhois one inwardly;and circumcisionis that which is of the heart,by the Spirit,not by the letter;and his praiseis not from men,but from God.
Thereforedo not go on passing judgmentbeforethe time,[but wait] untilthe Lordcomeswhowill bothbring to lightthe things hiddenin the darknessand disclosethe motivesof [men's] hearts;and theneach man'spraisewill cometo him from God.
For the sunriseswith a scorching windand withersthe grass;and its flowerfalls offand the beautyof its appearanceis destroyed;sotoothe rich manin the midst of his pursuitswill fade away.
For, "ALLFLESHIS LIKEGRASS,AND ALLITS GLORYLIKETHE FLOWEROF GRASS.THE GRASSWITHERS,AND THE FLOWERFALLS OFF,
sothat the proofof your faith,[being] more preciousthan goldwhich is perishable,even thoughtestedby fire,may be foundto resultin praiseand gloryand honorat the revelationof JesusChrist;
