The lightof the righteousrejoices,But the lampof the wickedgoesout.
But to his sonI will giveonetribe,that My servantDavidmay havea lampalwaysbeforeMe in Jerusalem,the citywhereI have chosenfor Myself to putMy name.
"Howoftenis the lampof the wickedputout, Or does their calamityfallon them? Does God apportiondestructionin His anger?
When His lampshoneovermy head,[And] by His lightI walkedthrough darkness;
Lightarisesin the darknessfor the upright;[He is] graciousand compassionateand righteous.
Lightis sown[like seed] for the righteousAnd gladnessfor the uprightin heart.
Through insolencecomesnothingbut strife,But wisdomis with those who receivecounsel.
The ransomof a man'slifeis his wealth,But the poorhearsnorebuke.
He who curseshis fatheror his mother,His lampwill goout in timeof darkness.
For there will be nofuturefor the evilman;The lampof the wickedwill be putout.
But the pathof the righteousis like the lightof dawn,That shinesbrighterand brighteruntilthe fullday.
"And when [I] extinguishyou, I will coverthe heavensand darkentheir stars;I will coverthe sunwith a cloudAnd the moonwill not giveits light.
"Whyshould the nameof our fatherbe withdrawnfrom amonghis familybecausehe hadnoson?Giveus a possessionamongour father'sbrothers."
"Thenthe kingsaidto the servants,'Bindhim handand foot,and throwhim into the outerdarkness;in that place therewill be weepingand gnashingof teeth.'
"The foolishsaidto the prudent,'Giveus someof your oil,for our lampsare goingout.'
