Trustin the LORDand dogood;Dwellin the landand cultivatefaithfulness.
Neithertheir silvernortheir goldWill be ableto deliverthem On the dayof the LORD'Swrath;And allthe earthwill be devouredIn the fireof His jealousy,For He will makea completeend,Indeeda terrifyingone, Of allthe inhabitantsof the earth.
They will not be ashamedin the timeof evil,And in the daysof faminethey will haveabundance.
To delivertheir soulfrom deathAnd to keepthem alivein famine.
"In famineHe will redeemyou from death,And in warfrom the powerof the sword.
"But seekHis kingdom,and these thingswill be addedto you.
He will dwellon the heights,His refugewill be the impregnablerock;His breadwill be given[him], His waterwill be sure.
The wickedis thrustdownby his wrongdoing,But the righteoushasa refugewhen he dies.
The wickedwill seeit and be vexed,He will gnashhis teethand meltaway;The desireof the wickedwill perish.
"The increaseof his housewill depart;[His possessions] will flowaway in the dayof His anger.
You have seen[it], for You have beheldmischiefand vexationto takeit into Your hand.The unfortunatecommits[himself] to You; You have beenthe helperof the orphan.
The righteoushasenoughto satisfyhis appetite,But the stomachof the wickedis in need.
He who turnsawayhis earfrom listeningto the law,Evenhis prayeris an abomination.
An arrogantman stirsup strife,But he who trustsin the LORDwill prosper.
"He wandersabout for food,saying, 'Whereis it?' He knowsthat a dayof darknessis at hand.
