Receivehim thenin the Lordwith alljoy,and holdmen likehim in high regard;
The elderswho rulewellare to be considered worthyof doublehonor,especiallythosewho work hardat preachingand teaching.
But we requestof you, brethren,that you appreciatethosewho diligently laboramongyou, and have charge overyou in the Lordand give you instruction,
For they have refreshedmy spiritand yours.Thereforeacknowledgesuch men.
that you receiveher in the Lordin a manner worthyof the saints,and that you helpher in whatevermattershe may have needof you; for she herselfhas alsobeena helperof many,and of myselfas well.
For it is not he who commendshimselfthat is approved,but he whomthe Lordcommends.
NowifTimothycomes,seethat he is with you without cause to be afraid,for he is doingthe Lord'swork,as I alsoam.
For thisreason,ifI come,I will call attentionto his deedswhichhe does,unjustly accusingus with wickedwords;and not satisfiedwith this,he himselfdoes not receivethe brethren,either,and he forbidsthosewho desire[to do so] and puts[them] out of the church.
Obeyyour leadersand submit[to them], for they keep watchoveryour soulsas those who will givean account.Let them dothiswith joyand not with grief,for thiswould be unprofitablefor you.
Aristarchus,my fellow prisoner,sends you his greetings;and [also] Barnabas'scousinMark(aboutwhomyou receivedinstructions;ifhe comesto you, welcomehim);
Make roomfor us [in your hearts]; we wrongednoone,we corruptedno one,we took advantageof no one.
Howwill they preachunlessthey are sent?Justas it is written,"HOWBEAUTIFULARE THE FEETOF THOSEWHO BRING GOOD NEWSOF GOOD THINGS!"
They also honoredus with manymarks of respect;and when we were setting sail,they supplied[us] with allwe needed.
Sothere was muchrejoicingin that city.
Day by daycontinuingwith one mindin the temple,and breakingbreadfrom house to house,they were takingtheir mealstogetherwith gladnessand sincerityof heart,
"Truly,truly,I sayto you, he who receiveswhomeverI sendreceivesMe; and he who receivesMe receivesHim who sentMe."
"And as for those who do not receiveyou, as you goout from that city,shakethe dustoffyour feetas a testimonyagainstthem."
Howlovelyon the mountainsAre the feetof him who bringsgood news,Who announcespeaceAnd bringsgood newsof happiness,Who announcessalvation,[And] saysto Zion,"Your Godreigns!"
ThereforeI have senthim all the more eagerlysothat when you seehim againyou may rejoiceand I may be less concerned[about you].
