Then on the tenthday of thisseventhmonthyou shall havea holyconvocation,and you shall humbleyourselves;you shall not doanywork.
Then I proclaimeda fastthereat the riverof Ahava,that we might humbleourselves beforeour Godto seekfrom Him a safejourneyfor us, our littleones,and allour possessions.
But as for me, when they were sick,my clothingwas sackcloth;I humbledmy soulwith fasting,And my prayerkept returningto my bosom.
Therefore in that daythe LordGODof hostscalled[you] to weeping,to wailing,To shavingthe headand to wearingsackcloth.
"I will pourout on the houseof Davidand on the inhabitantsof Jerusalem,the Spiritof graceand of supplication,so that they will lookon Me whomthey have pierced;and they will mournfor Him, as one mournsfor an onlyson,and they will weepbitterlyoverHim like the bitterweepingovera firstborn.
speakingto the priestswhobelong to the houseof the LORDof hosts,and to the prophets,saying,"Shall I weepin the fifthmonthand abstain,as I have donethesemanyyears?"
"Blessedare thosewho mourn,for they shall be comforted.
"I tellyou, no,but unlessyou repent,you will alllikewiseperish.
"I tellyou, no,but unlessyou repent,you will alllikewiseperish."
When considerabletimehad passedand the voyagewas nowdangerous,sinceeventhe fastwas alreadyover,Paul[began] to admonishthem,
knowingthis,that our oldselfwas crucifiedwith [Him], in orderthat our bodyof sinmight be done awaywith, so that we would no longerbe slavesto sin;
but I disciplinemy bodyand make it my slave,so that, after I have preachedto others,I myselfwill not be disqualified.
