Thus Mosesdid;justas the LORDhad commandedhim, sohe did.
"Wheneveranydisputecomesto you from your brethrenwho livein their cities,betweenbloodand blood,betweenlawand commandment,statutesand ordinances,you shall warnthem sothat they may not be guiltybefore the LORD,and wrathmay [not] comeon you and your brethren.Thusyou shall doand you will not be guilty.
"Then he shall slaughterthe goatof the sinofferingwhichis for the people,and bringits bloodinsidethe veiland dowith its bloodas he didwith the bloodof the bull,and sprinkleit on the mercyseatand in frontof the mercyseat.
"He shall makeatonementfor the holyplace, becauseof the impuritiesof the sonsof Israeland becauseof their transgressionsin regard to alltheir sins;and thushe shall dofor the tentof meetingwhich abideswith them in the midstof their impurities.
While the meatwas stillbetweentheir teeth,beforeit was chewed,the angerof the LORDwas kindledagainst the people,and the LORDstruckthe peoplewith a verysevereplague.
But the LORDsaidto Moses,"Putbackthe rodof Aaronbeforethe testimonyto be keptas a signagainst the rebels,that you may putan endto their grumblingsagainstMe, so that they will not die."
Then the sonsof Israelspoketo Moses,saying,"Behold,we perish,we are dying,we are alldying!
