Then Aarontook[it] as Moseshad spoken,and raninto the midstof the assembly,for behold,the plaguehad begunamong the people.So he put[on] the incenseand madeatonementfor the people.
Thus they provoked[Him] to angerwith their deeds,And the plaguebrokeout among them.
Mosessaidto Aaron,"Takeyour censerand putin it firefrom the altar,and layincense[on it]; then bringit quicklyto the congregationand makeatonementfor them, for wrathhas goneforthfrom the LORD,the plaguehas begun!"
He tookhis standbetweenthe deadand the living,so that the plaguewas checked.
and it shall be for him and his descendantsafterhim, a covenantof a perpetualpriesthood,becausehe was jealousfor his Godand madeatonementfor the sonsof Israel.'"
