There was warat Gathagain,where there was a manof [great] staturewho had sixfingerson each handand sixtoeson each foot,twenty-fourin number;and he alsohad been bornto the giant.
Againthere was warat Gath,where there was a manof [great] staturewho had twenty-fourfingersand toes,six[fingers on each hand] and six[toes on each foot]; and he alsowas descendedfrom the giants.
Then they despisedthe pleasantland;They did not believein His word,
Yes, I will cause men--My peopleIsrael--to walkon you and possessyou, so that you will becometheir inheritanceand neveragainbereavethem of children.'
"It was I who broughtyou up from the landof Egypt,And I ledyou in the wildernessfortyyearsThat you might takepossessionof the landof the Amorite.
"Yet it was I who destroyedthe Amoritebeforethem, Though his height[was] like the heightof cedarsAnd he [was] strongas the oaks;I even destroyedhis fruitaboveand his rootbelow.
"Nevertheless,the peoplewho livein the landare strong,and the citiesare fortified[and] verylarge;and moreover,we sawthe descendantsof Anakthere.
"But woeto you, scribesand Pharisees,hypocrites,becauseyou shutoff the kingdomof heavenfrom people;for you do not enterin yourselves,nordo you allowthosewho are enteringto goin.
Wherecan we goup? Our brethrenhave made our heartsmelt,saying,"The peopleare biggerand tallerthanwe; the citiesare largeand fortifiedto heaven.And besides,we sawthe sonsof the Anakimthere."'
