The LORDtherefore saidto Moses,"Gatherfor Me seventymenfrom the eldersof Israel,whomyou knowto be the eldersof the peopleand their officersand bringthem to the tentof meeting,and let them taketheir standtherewith you.
and the sonsof Joseph,who were bornto him in Egyptwere two;allthe personsof the houseof Jacob,who cameto Egypt,[were] seventy.
Moseschoseablemenout of allIsraeland madethem headsoverthe people,leadersof thousands,of hundreds,of fiftiesand of tens.
Then He saidto Moses,"Comeup to the LORD,you and Aaron,Nadaband Abihuand seventyof the eldersof Israel,and you shall worshipat a distance.
Then Moseswentup with Aaron,Nadaband Abihu,and seventyof the eldersof Israel,
Then Mosesand Aaronwentand assembledallthe eldersof the sonsof Israel;
Thussaysthe LORD,"Goand buya potter'searthenwarejar,and [take] someof the eldersof the peopleand someof the seniorpriests.
Standingin frontof them were seventyeldersof the houseof Israel,with Jaazaniahthe sonof Shaphanstandingamongthem, eachmanwith his censerin his handand the fragranceof the cloudof incenserising.
So Moseswentout and toldthe peoplethe wordsof the LORD.Also, he gatheredseventymenof the eldersof the people,and stationedthem aroundthe tent.
Then Mosesaroseand wentto Dathanand Abiram,with the eldersof Israelfollowinghim,
Nowafterthisthe Lordappointedseventyothers,and sentthem in pairsaheadof Him to everycityand placewhereHe Himselfwas goingto come.
The seventyreturnedwith joy,saying,"Lord,eventhe demonsare subjectto us in Your name."
"So I tookthe headsof your tribes,wiseand experiencedmen,and appointedthem headsoveryou, leadersof thousandsand of hundreds,of fiftiesand of tens,and officersfor your tribes.
"You shall appointfor yourself judgesand officersin allyour townswhichthe LORDyour Godis givingyou, according to your tribes,and they shall judgethe peoplewith righteousjudgment.
"Assembleto me allthe eldersof your tribesand your officers,that I may speakthesewordsin their hearingand callthe heavensand the earthto witnessagainst them.
