So Mosessaidto the LORD,"Whyhave You been so hardon Your servant?And whyhave I not foundfavorin Your sight,that You have laidthe burdenof allthispeopleon me?
"I will sayto God,Do not condemnme; Let me knowwhyYou contendwith me.
IfYou, LORD,should markiniquities,O Lord,whocould stand?
And do not enterinto judgmentwith Your servant,For in Your sightnomanlivingis righteous.
So Mosescriedout to the LORD,saying,"Whatshall I doto thispeople?A littlemoreand they will stoneme."
Then Mosesreturnedto the LORDand said,"O Lord,whyhave You broughtharmto thispeople?Whydid You eversendme?
Woeto me, my mother,that you have borneme [As] a manof strifeand a manof contentionto allthe land!I have not lent,norhave men lentmoney to me, [Yet] everyonecursesme.
Whyhas my painbeenperpetualAnd my woundincurable,refusingto be healed?Will You indeedbe to me likea deceptive[stream] With waterthat is unreliable?
"You have said,It is vainto serveGod;and whatprofitis it that we have keptHis charge,and that we have walkedin mourningbeforethe LORDof hosts?
Now Mosesheardthe peopleweepingthroughout their families,eachmanat the doorwayof his tent;and the angerof the LORDwas kindledgreatly,and Moseswas displeased.
"So ifYou are going to dealthuswith me, pleasekillme at once,ifI have foundfavorin Your sight,and do not let me seemy wretchedness."
Apartfrom [such] externalthings, there is the dailypressureon me [of] concernfor allthe churches.
Howcan I alonebearthe loadand burdenof you and your strife?
