untilthe LORDremovedIsraelfrom His sight,as He spokethroughallHis servantsthe prophets.So Israelwas carriedawayinto exilefrom their own landto Assyriauntilthisday.
Saying,"To you I will givethe landof Canaan,As the portionof your inheritance."
These[were] they who cameup from Tel-melah,Tel-harsha,Cherub,Addonand Immer;but they couldnot showtheir fathers'housesor their descendants,whetherthey were of Israel:
The lineshave fallento me in pleasantplaces; Indeed,my heritageis beautifulto me.
They will not remainin the LORD'Sland,But Ephraimwill returnto Egypt,And in Assyriathey will eatunclean[food].
So Mosescommandedthe sonsof Israel,saying,"Thisis the landthat you are to apportionby lotamong you as a possession,whichthe LORDhas commandedto giveto the nineand a halftribes.
Then the LORDspoketo Moses,saying,
"Nooneof illegitimatebirthshall enterthe assemblyof the LORD;noneof his [descendants], evento the tenthgeneration,shall enterthe assemblyof the LORD.
"The sonsof the thirdgenerationwhoare bornto them may enterthe assemblyof the LORD.
"When the MostHighgavethe nationstheir inheritance,When He separatedthe sonsof man,He setthe boundariesof the peoplesAccording to the numberof the sonsof Israel.
And Joshuacastlotsfor them in Shilohbeforethe LORD,and thereJoshuadividedthe landto the sonsof Israelaccording to their divisions.
"Providefor yourselves threemenfrom each tribethat I may sendthem, and that they may ariseand walkthrough the landand writea description of it accordingto their inheritance;then they shall returnto me.
