ThenHe saidto them, "My soulis deeply grieved,to the pointof death;remainhereand keep watchwith Me."
The cordsof deathencompassedme And the terrorsof Sheolcameupon me; I founddistressand sorrow.
Whyare you in despair,O my soul?And [why] have you becomedisturbedwithinme? Hopein God,for I shall againpraiseHim [For] the helpof His presence.
"I have takenoffmy dress,Howcan I putit on [again]? I have washedmy feet,Howcan I dirtythem [again]?
But the LORDwas pleasedTo crushHim, putting[Him] to grief;IfHe would renderHimself[as] a guiltoffering,He will see[His] offspring,He will prolong[His] days,And the goodpleasureof the LORDwill prosperin His hand.
Therefore,I will allotHim a portionwith the great,And He will dividethe bootywith the strong;BecauseHe pouredout Himselfto death,And was numberedwith the transgressors;Yet He Himselfborethe sinof many,And intercededfor the transgressors.
He was despisedand forsakenof men,A manof sorrowsand acquaintedwith grief;And like one from whom men hidetheir faceHe was despised,and we did not esteemHim.
"Be on the alertthen,for you do not knowthe daynorthe hour.
And He saidto them, "My soulis deeply grievedto the pointof death;remainhereand keep watch."
"NowMy soulhas become troubled;and whatshall I say,Father,saveMe from thishour?But for thispurpose I cameto thishour.
He whodid not spareHis ownSon,but deliveredHim over for us all,howwill He not alsowith Him freely giveus all things?
He madeHim who knewnosin[to be] sinon our behalf,sothat we might becomethe righteousnessof Godin Him.
Christredeemedus from the curseof the Law,having becomea cursefor us-- for it is written,"CURSEDIS EVERYONEWHO HANGSON A TREE"--
and He Himselfboreour sinsin His bodyon the cross,sothat we might dieto sinand liveto righteousness;for by His woundsyou were healed.
For Christalsodiedfor sinsonce for all,[the] justfor [the] unjust,sothat He might bringus to God,having been put to deathin the flesh,but made alivein the spirit;
The endof all thingsis near;therefore,be of sound judgmentand sober[spirit] for the purpose of prayer.
