The fearof the LORDis the beginningof knowledge;Foolsdespisewisdomand instruction.
Whyis there a pricein the handof a foolto buywisdom,When he hasnosense?
"To whichamong the treesof Edenare you thusequalin gloryand greatness?Yet you will be broughtdownwith the treesof Edento the earthbeneath;you will liein the midstof the uncircumcised,with those who were slainby the sword.So is Pharaohand allhis hordes!"'declaresthe LordGOD."
"IfSatancastsout Satan,he is dividedagainsthimself;howthenwill his kingdomstand?
"The one on whom seed was sownon the rockyplaces, thisis the man who hearsthe wordand immediatelyreceivesit with joy;
and the fieldis the world;and [as for] the goodseed,theseare the sonsof the kingdom;and the taresare the sonsof the evil[one];
Jesus was going throughoutallGalilee,teachingin their synagoguesand proclaimingthe gospelof the kingdom,and healingeverykindof diseaseand every kindof sicknessamongthe people.
"But let your statementbe, 'Yes,yes[or] 'No,no;anything beyondtheseis of evil.
"Theseare the ones whoare besidethe roadwherethe wordis sown;and whenthey hear,immediatelySatancomesand takes awaythe wordwhich has been sownin them.
and healthosein it who are sick,and sayto them, 'The kingdomof Godhas come nearto you.'
And He sentthem out to proclaimthe kingdomof Godand to perform healing.
Pilatesaidto Him, "Whatis truth?"And when he had saidthis,he wentout againto the Jewsand saidto them, "I findnoguiltin Him.
"Whydo you not understandwhat I am saying?[It is] becauseyou cannothearMy word.
Nowwhen they heardof the resurrectionof the dead,some[began] to sneer,but otherssaid,"We shall hearyou againconcerningthis."
but ifthere are questionsaboutwordsand namesand your own law,look afterit yourselves;I amunwillingto be a judgeof thesematters."
"And now,behold,I knowthat allof you, amongwhomI went aboutpreachingthe kingdom,will no longerseemy face.
When they had seta dayfor Paul, they cameto him at his lodgingin large numbers;and he was explainingto them by solemnly testifyingabout the kingdomof Godand trying to persuadethem concerningJesus,from boththe Lawof Mosesand from the Prophets,from morninguntilevening.
And justas they did not see fitto acknowledgeGodany longer, Godgave them overto a depravedmind,to dothosethings which are not proper,
for the kingdomof Godis not eatingand drinking,but righteousnessand peaceand joyin the HolySpirit.
but to thosewho are selfishly ambitiousand do not obeythe truth,but obeyunrighteousness,wrathand indignation.
To me, the very leastof allsaints,thisgracewas given,to preachto the Gentilesthe unfathomablerichesof Christ,
in orderthat they allmay be judgedwho did not believethe truth,but took pleasurein wickedness.
For thisreasonwe mustpaymuch closerattentionto what we have heard,sothat we do not drift away[from it].
not as Cain,[who] was of the eviloneand slewhis brother.And for whatreasondid he slayhim? Becausehis deedswere evil,and his brother'swere righteous.
We knowthat noonewho is bornof Godsins;but He who was bornof Godkeepshim, and the evil onedoes not touchhim.
And we knowthat the Sonof Godhas come,and has givenus understandingsothat we may knowHim whois true;and we are in Him who is true,in His SonJesusChrist.Thisis the true Godand eternallife.
