They cameto Jesusand observedthe man who had been demon-possessedsitting down,clothedand in his right mind,the very man who had hadthe "legion";and they became frightened.
Davidwas afraidof Godthat day,saying,"Howcan I bringthe arkof God[home] to me?"
"Becauseyou did not [carry it] at the first,the LORDour Godmadean outburston us, for we did not seekHim according to the ordinance."
"Will not His majestyterrifyyou, And the dreadof Him fallon you?
Therethey are in greatdread,For Godis with the righteousgeneration.
"Orhowcananyoneenterthe strongman'shouseand carry offhis property,unlesshe firstbindsthe strong[man]? And thenhe will plunderhis house.
"Ordo you thinkthat I cannotappealto My Father,and He will at onceput at My disposalmorethan twelvelegionsof angels?
The newsabout Him spreadthroughoutallSyria;and they broughtto Him allwho were ill,those sufferingwith variousdiseasesand pains,demoniacs,epileptics,paralytics;and He healedthem.
After the demonwas castout, the mute manspoke;and the crowdswere amazed,[and were] saying,"Nothinglike thishas everbeen seenin Israel."
Their herdsmenran awayand reportedit in the cityand in the country.And [the people] cameto seewhatit was that had happened.
Thosewho had seenit describedto them howit had happenedto the demon-possessedman, and [all] aboutthe swine.
As He was gettinginto the boat,the man who had been demon-possessedwas imploringHim that he might accompanyHim.
becausehe had oftenbeen boundwith shacklesand chains,and the chainshad been torn apartby him and the shacklesbroken in pieces,and no onewas strong enoughto subduehim.
And He was askinghim, "Whatis your name?"And he saidto Him, "My nameis Legion;for we are many."
She hada sistercalledMary,whowas seatedat the Lord'sfeet,listeningto His word.
And when He cameout ontothe land,He was metby a manfrom the citywho was possessedwith demons;and who had not puton any clothingfor a longtime,and was not livingin a house,but in the tombs.
For He rescuedus from the domainof darkness,and transferredus to the kingdomof His belovedSon,
For Godhas not givenus a spiritof timidity,but of powerand loveand discipline.
So Samueldidwhatthe LORDsaid,and cameto Bethlehem.And the eldersof the citycametremblingto meethim and said,"Do you comein peace?"
