They were watchingHim [to see] ifHe would healhim on the Sabbath,sothat they might accuseHim.
The wickedspiesupon the righteousAnd seeksto killhim.
For I have heardthe whisperingof many,"Terroron everyside!Denounce[him]; yes, let us denouncehim!" Allmy trustedfriends,Watchingfor my fall,say: "Perhapshe will be deceived,so that we may prevailagainst him And takeour revengeon him."
Thenthe commissionersand satrapsbegan tryingto finda groundof accusationagainst Danielin regardto governmentaffairs;but they couldfindnogroundof accusationor [evidence of] corruption,inasmuchas he was faithful,and nonegligenceor corruptionwas [to be] foundin him.
And a man[was there] whose handwas withered.And they questionedJesus, asking,"Is it lawfulto healon the Sabbath?"--sothat they might accuseHim.
He saidto the manwith the witheredhand,"Getup and come forward!"
It happenedthat whenHe wentinto the houseof oneof the leadersof the Phariseeson [the] Sabbathto eatbread,they were watching Him closely.
Sothey watchedHim, and sentspieswho pretendedto be righteous,in orderthat they might catchHim in some statement,sothat they [could] deliverHim to the ruleand the authorityof the governor.
The scribesand the Phariseeswere watching Him closely[to see] ifHe healedon the Sabbath,sothat they might find[reason] to accuseHim.
They were sayingthis,testingHim, sothat they might havegrounds for accusingHim. But Jesusstoopeddownand with His fingerwroteon the ground.
Thereforesomeof the Phariseeswere saying,"Thismanis not from God,becauseHe does not keepthe Sabbath."But otherswere saying,"Howcana manwho is a sinnerperformsuchsigns?"And there was a divisionamongthem.
