"Turnto my reproof,Behold,I will pourout my spiriton you; I will makemy wordsknownto you.
Untilthe Spiritis pouredout upon us from on high,And the wildernessbecomesa fertilefield,And the fertilefieldis consideredas a forest.
For I will pourout wateron the thirsty[land] And streamson the dryground;I will pourout My Spiriton your offspringAnd My blessingon your descendants;
"It will comeabout afterthisThat I will pourout My Spiriton allmankind;And your sonsand daughterswill prophesy,Your oldmenwill dreamdreams,Your youngmenwill seevisions.
"As for me, I baptizeyou with waterfor repentance,but He who is comingafterme is mightierthan I, and I amnot fitto removeHis sandals;He will baptizeyou with the HolySpiritand fire.
And he was preaching,and saying,"Afterme One is comingwho is mightierthan I, and I amnot fitto stoop downand untiethe thongof His sandals.
In thosedaysJesuscamefrom Nazarethin Galileeand was baptizedby Johnin the Jordan.
Johnansweredand saidto them all,"As for me, I baptizeyou with water;but One is comingwho is mightierthan I, and I amnot fitto untiethe thongof His sandals;He will baptizeyou with the HolySpiritand fire.
Johnansweredthem saying,"I baptizein water,[but] amongyou standsOne whomyou do not know.
"I did not recognizeHim, but He who sentme to baptizein watersaidto me, 'He upon whomyou seethe Spiritdescendingand remainingupon Him, thisis the One who baptizesin the HolySpirit.'
for Johnbaptizedwith water,but you will be baptizedwith the HolySpiritnot manydaysfrom now."
Allthe circumcisedbelieverswhocamewith Peterwere amazed,becausethe giftof the HolySpirithad been pouredout on the Gentilesalso.
AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LASTDAYS,'Godsays,'THAT I WILL POUR FORTHOF MY SPIRITON ALLMANKIND;AND YOUR SONSAND YOUR DAUGHTERSSHALL PROPHESY,AND YOUR YOUNG MENSHALL SEEVISIONS,AND YOUR OLD MENSHALL DREAMDREAMS;
And they were allfilledwith the HolySpiritand beganto speakwith othertongues,as the Spiritwas givingthem utterance.
For by oneSpiritwe were allbaptizedinto onebody,whetherJewsorGreeks,whetherslavesorfree,and we were allmade to drinkof oneSpirit.
