Johnansweredand saidto them all,"As for me, I baptizeyou with water;but One is comingwho is mightierthan I, and I amnot fitto untiethe thongof His sandals;He will baptizeyou with the HolySpiritand fire.
"Turnto my reproof,Behold,I will pourout my spiriton you; I will makemy wordsknownto you.
Untilthe Spiritis pouredout upon us from on high,And the wildernessbecomesa fertilefield,And the fertilefieldis consideredas a forest.
Whenthe Lordhas washedawaythe filthof the daughtersof Zionand purgedthe bloodshedof Jerusalemfrom her midst,by the spiritof judgmentand the spiritof burning,
"Then I will sprinklecleanwateron you, and you will be clean;I will cleanseyou from allyour filthinessand from allyour idols.
"And I will bringthe thirdpartthrough the fire,Refinethem as silveris refined,And testthem as goldis tested.They will callon My name,And I will answerthem; I will say,They are My people,'And they will say,'The LORDis my God.'"

"[It is] He who comesafterme, the thongof whosesandalI amnot worthyto untie."
"I did not recognizeHim, but He who sentme to baptizein watersaidto me, 'He upon whomyou seethe Spiritdescendingand remainingupon Him, thisis the One who baptizesin the HolySpirit.'
"He who believesin Me, as the Scripturesaid,From his innermost beingwill flowriversof livingwater.'"
for Johnbaptizedwith water,but you will be baptizedwith the HolySpiritnot manydaysfrom now."
While Peterwas stillspeakingthesewords,the HolySpiritfellupon allthosewho were listeningto the message.
"Thereforehaving been exaltedto the right handof God,and having receivedfrom the Fatherthe promiseof the HolySpirit,He has poured forththiswhichyou bothseeand hear.
For by oneSpiritwe were allbaptizedinto onebody,whetherJewsorGreeks,whetherslavesorfree,and we were allmade to drinkof oneSpirit.
