"Perhapstheir supplicationwill comebeforethe LORD,and everyonewill turnfrom his evilway,for greatis the angerand the wraththat the LORDhas pronouncedagainstthispeople."
"Perhapsthe houseof Judahwill hearallthe calamitywhichI planto bringon them, in orderthat everymanwill turnfrom his evilway;then I will forgivetheir iniquityand their sin."
But whenthe fullnessof the timecame,Godsent forthHis Son,bornof a woman,bornunderthe Law,
For whatthe Lawcouldnot do, weakas it was throughthe flesh,God[did]: sendingHis ownSonin the likenessof sinfulfleshand [as an offering] for sin,He condemnedsinin the flesh,
"I myselfhave seen,and have testifiedthat thisis the Sonof God."
Thena voicecameout of the cloud,saying,"Thisis My Son,[My] ChosenOne; listento Him!"
While he was stillspeaking,a brightcloudovershadowedthem, and behold,a voiceout of the cloudsaid,"Thisis My belovedSon,with whomI am well-pleased;listento Him!"
Howcan I giveyou up, O Ephraim?How can I surrenderyou, O Israel?Howcan I makeyou like Admah?How can I treatyou like Zeboiim?My heartis turnedoverwithinMe, AllMy compassionsare kindled.
Whatshall I dowith you, O Ephraim?Whatshall I dowith you, O Judah?For your loyaltyis like a morningcloudAnd like the dewwhich goesaway early.
"Whatmorewas there to dofor My vineyardthat I have not donein it? Why,when I expected[it] to produce[good] grapesdid it produceworthlessones?
"Therefore, sonof man,preparefor yourself baggagefor exileand gointo exileby dayin their sight;even gointo exilefrom your placeto anotherplacein their sight.Perhapsthey will understandthoughthey are a rebellioushouse.
saying,"In a certaincitytherewas a judgewho did not fearGodand did not respectman.
"For a whilehe was unwilling;but afterwardhe saidto himself,'EventhoughI do not fearGodnorrespectman,
"And he proceededto senda third;and this onealsothey woundedand castout.
"But when the vine-growerssawhim, they reasonedwith one another,saying,'Thisis the heir;let us killhim sothat the inheritancewill be ours.'
