Thenbeginningwith Mosesand with allthe prophets,He explainedto them the things concerningHimselfin allthe Scriptures.
"The Lawand the Prophets[were proclaimed] untilJohn;sincethat timethe gospelof the kingdomof Godhas been preached,and everyoneis forcing his wayinto it.
Seekfrom the bookof the LORD,and read:Not oneof thesewill be missing;Nonewill lackits mate.For His mouthhas commanded,And His Spirithas gatheredthem.
To the lawand to the testimony!Ifthey do not speakaccording to thisword,it is becausethey havenodawn.
And the bookof the prophetIsaiahwas handedto Him. And He openedthe bookand foundthe placewhereit was written,
Thussaysthe LORD,"Standby the waysand seeand askfor the ancientpaths,Wherethe goodwayis, and walkin it; And you will findrestfor your souls.But they said,'We will not walk[in it].'
Tellme, you who wantto be underlaw,do you not listento the law?
