"But he saidto me, 'Behold,you shall conceiveand givebirthto a son,and nowyou shall not drinkwineor strongdrinknoreatanyuncleanthing,for the boyshall be a Naziriteto Godfrom the wombto the dayof his death.'"
But they said,"We will not drinkwine,for Jonadabthe sonof Rechab,our father,commandedus, saying,You shall not drinkwine,you or your sons,forever.
"Then I raisedup someof your sonsto be prophetsAnd someof your youngmento be Nazirites.Is thisnot so,O sonsof Israel?"declaresthe LORD.
"Speakto the sonsof Israeland sayto them, 'Whena manorwomanmakesa specialvow,the vowof a Nazirite,to dedicatehimself to the LORD,
"Nowtherefore, be carefulnot to drinkwineor strongdrink,noreatanyuncleanthing.
Then the womancameand toldher husband,saying,"A manof Godcameto me and his appearancewas like the appearanceof the angelof God,veryawesome.And I did not askhim wherehe [came] from, nordid he tellme his name.
Then Manoahentreatedthe LORDand said,"OLord,pleaselet the manof GodwhomYou have sentcometo us againthat he may teachus whatto dofor the boywho is to be born."
