But Adoni-bezekfled;and they pursuedhim and caughthim and cutoffhis thumbsand bigtoes.

He pourscontemptupon princesAnd makes them wanderin a pathlesswaste.
To bindtheir kingswith chainsAnd their nobleswith fettersof iron,
Do not slaythem, ormy peoplewill forget;Scatterthem by Your power,and bringthem down,O Lord,our shield.
Then the LORDsaidto Moses,"Stretchout your handoverthe seaso that the watersmay comebackoverthe Egyptians,overtheir chariotsand their horsemen."
eyefor eye,toothfor tooth,handfor hand,footfor foot,
"You shall slaughterthe ram,and takesomeof its bloodand put[it] on the lobeof Aaron'sright earand on the lobesof his sons'rightearsand on the thumbsof their righthandsand on the bigtoesof their rightfeet,and sprinklethe [rest of the] bloodaroundon the altar.
"Thereforethussaysthe LORD,'You have not obeyedMe in proclaimingreleaseeachmanto his brotherand eachmanto his neighbor.Behold,I am proclaiminga releaseto you,' declaresthe LORD,to the sword,to the pestilenceand to the famine;and I will makeyou a terrorto allthe kingdomsof the earth.
"Raiseyour battlecryagainsther on everyside!She has givenherselfup, her pillarshave fallen,Her wallshave been torndown.For thisis the vengeanceof the LORD:Takevengeanceon her; As she has done[to others, so] doto her.
And Calebsaid,"The one whoattacksKiriath-sepherand capturesit, I will givehim Achsahmy daughteras a wife."
They foundAdoni-bezekin Bezekand foughtagainst him, and they defeatedthe Canaanitesand the Perizzites.
Adoni-bezeksaid,"Seventykingswith their thumbsand their bigtoescutoffused to gatherup [scraps] undermy table;as I have done,soGodhas repaidme." So they broughthim to Jerusalemand he diedthere.
