Then the kingof AssyriasentTartanand Rab-sarisand Rabshakehfrom Lachishto KingHezekiahwith a largearmyto Jerusalem.So they wentup and cameto Jerusalem.And when they wentup, they cameand stoodby the conduitof the upperpool,whichis on the highwayof the fuller'sfield.
Then Rabshakehreturnedand foundthe kingof AssyriafightingagainstLibnah,for he had heardthat the king had leftLachish.
Josiahwas eightyearsoldwhen he becameking,and he reignedthirty-oneyearsin Jerusalem;and his mother'sname[was] Jedidahthe daughterof Adaiahof Bozkath.
Therefore Adoni-zedekkingof Jerusalemsent[word] to Hohamkingof Hebronand to Piramkingof Jarmuthand to Japhiakingof Lachishand to Debirkingof Eglon,saying,
