The crowdthenansweredHim, "We have heardout of the Lawthat the Christis to remainforever;and howcan You say,The Sonof Manmustbe liftedup'? Whois thisSonof Man?"
"Little children,I amwith you a little whilelonger.You will seekMe; and as I saidto the Jews,nowI alsosayto you, 'WhereI am going,you cannotcome.'
Nicodemussaidto Him, "Howcana manbe bornwhen he is old?He cannotentera second timeinto his mother'swomband be born,can he?"
Nicodemussaidto Him, "Howcanthese thingsbe?"
Thereforethe Jewswere grumblingaboutHim, becauseHe said,"I amthe breadthat came downout of heaven."
Thenthe Jews[began] to arguewith one another,saying,"Howcanthis mangiveus [His] fleshto eat?"
Thereforemanyof His disciples,when they heard[this] said,"Thisis a difficultstatement;whocanlistento it?"
"You will seekMe, and will not findMe; and whereI am,you cannotcome."
ThenHe saidagainto them, "I goaway,and you will seekMe, and will diein your sin;whereI am going,you cannotcome."
But a naturalmandoes not acceptthe things of the Spiritof God,for they are foolishnessto him; and he cannotunderstandthem, becausethey are spirituallyappraised.
