saying,"Whatbusiness do we have with each other, Jesusof Nazareth?Have You cometo destroyus? I knowwhoYou are-- the Holy Oneof God!"
And He [continued] by questioningthem, "But whodo you saythat I am?"Peteransweredand saidto Him, "You are the Christ."
And He saidto them, "But whodo you saythat I am?"And Peteransweredand said,"The Christof God."
The next dayhe sawJesuscomingto him and said,"Behold,the Lambof Godwho takes awaythe sinof the world!
He foundfirsthis ownbrotherSimonand saidto him, "We have foundthe Messiah"(whichtranslatedmeansChrist).
do you sayof Him, whomthe Fathersanctifiedand sentinto the world,'You are blaspheming,'becauseI said,I amthe Sonof God'?
She saidto Him, "Yes,Lord;I have believedthat You are the Christ,the Sonof God,[even] He who comesinto the world."
Thomasansweredand saidto Him, "My Lordand my God!"
but thesehave been writtensothat you may believethat Jesusis the Christ,the Sonof God;and that believingyou may havelifein His name.
As they wentalongthe roadthey cameto somewater;and the eunuchsaid,"Look!Water!Whatpreventsme from being baptized?"
concerningHis Son,who was bornof a descendantof Davidaccordingto the flesh,
untilwe allattainto the unityof the faith,and of the knowledgeof the Sonof God,to a matureman,to the measureof the staturewhich belongs to the fullnessof Christ.
We have come to knowand have believedthe lovewhichGodhasfor us. Godis love,and the one who abidesin loveabidesin God,and Godabidesin him.
Whoeverbelievesthat Jesusis the Christis bornof God,and whoeverlovesthe Fatherlovesthe [child] bornof Him.
And we knowthat the Sonof Godhas come,and has givenus understandingsothat we may knowHim whois true;and we are in Him who is true,in His SonJesusChrist.Thisis the true Godand eternallife.
