For as yetthey did not understandthe Scripture,that He mustrise againfrom the dead.
For You will not abandonmy soulto Sheol;Norwill You allowYour HolyOneto undergodecay.
My strengthis driedup like a potsherd,And my tonguecleavesto my jaws;And You layme in the dustof death.
He will swallowup deathfor alltime,And the LordGODwill wipetearsawayfrom allfaces,And He will removethe reproachof His peoplefrom allthe earth;For the LORDhas spoken.
Your deadwill live;Their corpseswill rise.You who liein the dust,awakeand shoutfor joy,For your dew[is as] the dewof the dawn,And the earthwill givebirthto the departedspirits.
Shall I ransomthem from the powerof Sheol?Shall I redeemthem from death?O Death,whereare your thorns?O Sheol,whereis your sting?Compassionwill be hiddenfrom My sight.
But Jesusansweredand saidto them, "You are mistaken,not understandingthe Scripturesnorthe powerof God.
"Was it not necessaryfor the Christto sufferthese thingsand to enterinto His glory?"
But they did not understandthisstatement,and it was concealedfrom them sothat they would not perceiveit; and they were afraidto askHim aboutthisstatement.
SowhenHe was raisedfrom the dead,His disciplesrememberedthat He saidthis;and they believedthe Scriptureand the wordwhichJesushad spoken.
explainingand giving evidencethat the Christhadto sufferand rise againfrom the dead,and [saying], "ThisJesuswhomI am proclaimingto you is the Christ."
"But Godraised Him up again,putting an endto the agonyof death,sinceit was impossiblefor Him to be heldin its power.
and that He was buried,and that He was raisedon the thirddayaccordingto the Scriptures,
