Then Jeremiahchanteda lamentfor Josiah.And allthe male and female singersspeakaboutJosiahin their lamentationsto this day.And they madethem an ordinancein Israel;behold,they are also writtenin the Lamentations.
"Behold,let that nightbe barren;Let nojoyfulshoutenterit.
"Let the starsof its twilightbe darkened;Let it waitfor lightbut havenone,And let it not seethe breakingdawn;
"Can you drawout Leviathanwith a fishhook?Or pressdownhis tonguewith a cord?
"Noone is so fiercethat he dares to arousehim; Whothen is he that can standbeforeMe?
"Whenhe raiseshimself up, the mightyfear;Becauseof the crashingthey are bewildered.
In that daythe LORDwill punishLeviathanthe fleeingserpent,With His fierceand greatand mightysword,EvenLeviathanthe twistedserpent;And He will killthe dragonwho[lives] in the sea.
Thereforethussaysthe LORDGodof hosts,the Lord,"There is wailingin allthe plazas,And in allthe streetsthey say,'Alas!Alas!'They also callthe farmerto mourningAnd professionalmournersto lamentation.
and say,'We played the flutefor you, and you did not dance;we sang a dirge,and you did not mourn.'
They cameto the houseof the synagogue official;and He sawa commotion,and [people] loudlyweepingand wailing.
