"Whowill confronthim with his actions,And whowill repayhim for what he has done?
"[You say], 'Godstoresawaya man's iniquityfor his sons.'Let God repayhim so that he may know[it].
"For the wickedis reservedfor the dayof calamity;They will be ledforthat the dayof fury.
"While he is carriedto the grave,[Men] will keepwatchover[his] tomb.
"Whohas givento Me that I should repay[him]? [Whatever] is underthe wholeheavenis Mine.
"Thesethingsyou have doneand I keptsilence;You thoughtthat I was just likeyou; I will reproveyou and state[the case] in orderbefore your eyes.
Transgressingand denyingthe LORD,And turningawayfrom our God,Speakingoppressionand revolt,Conceiving[in] and utteringfrom the heartlyingwords.
For Johnhad been sayingto Herod,"It is not lawfulfor you to haveyour brother'swife."
But as he was discussingrighteousness,self-controland the judgmentto come,Felixbecamefrightenedand said,"Go awayfor the present,and when I findtimeI will summonyou."
Nevertakeyour ownrevenge,beloved,but leaveroomfor the wrath[of God], for it is written,"VENGEANCEIS MINE,I WILL REPAY,"saysthe Lord.
But whenCephascameto Antioch,I opposedhim to his face,becausehe stood condemned.
but repaysthose who hateHim to their faces,to destroythem; He will not delaywith him who hatesHim, He will repayhim to his face.
For judgment[will be] mercilessto one who has shownnomercy;mercytriumphs overjudgment.
