"Behold,I cry,'Violence!'but I getnoanswer;I shoutfor help,but thereis nojustice.
Is it rightfor You indeedto oppress,To rejectthe laborof Your hands,And to lookfavorablyon the schemesof the wicked?
"O that a manmight pleadwith GodAs a manwith his neighbor!
"Behold,I knowyour thoughts,And the plansby which you would wrongme.
"I cryout to You for help,but You do not answerme; I standup, and You turnYour attentionagainst me.
"Yetdoes not one in a heapof ruinsstretchout [his] hand,Orin his disasterthereforecryout for help?
"I goabout mourningwithoutcomfort; I standup in the assembly[and] cryout for help.
"For Jobhas said,I am righteous,But Godhas takenawaymy right;
"Will you reallyannulMy judgment?Will you condemnMe that you may be justified?
"The earthis giveninto the handof the wicked;He coversthe facesof its judges.If[it is] not [He], thenwhois it?
"For [He is] not a manas I am that I may answerHim, That we may goto courttogether.
O my God,I cryby day,but You do not answer;And by night,but I have norest.
Yet You are holy,O You who are enthronedupon the praisesof Israel.
For eachtimeI speak,I cryaloud;I proclaimviolenceand destruction,Becausefor me the wordof the LORDhas resultedIn reproachand derisionalldaylong.
EvenwhenI cryout and callfor help,He shutsout my prayer.
