"O you who tearyourselfin your anger--For your sakeis the earthto be abandoned,Or the rockto be movedfrom its place?
"Whyshould I takemy fleshin my teethAnd putmy lifein my hands?
"But the fallingmountaincrumblesaway,And the rockmovesfrom its place;
"His angerhas tornme and huntedme down,He has gnashedat me with His teeth;My adversaryglaresat me.
"Whyare we regardedas beasts,As stupidin your eyes?
"Indeed,the lightof the wickedgoesout, And the flameof his firegivesnolight.
"Will you reallyannulMy judgment?Will you condemnMe that you may be justified?
"For angerslaysthe foolishman,And jealousykillsthe simple.
"For the mountainsmay be removedand the hillsmay shake,But My lovingkindnesswill not be removedfrom you, And My covenantof peacewill not be shaken,"Saysthe LORDwho hascompassionon you.
Then He saidto me, "The iniquityof the houseof Israeland Judahis very,verygreat,and the landis filledwith bloodand the cityis fullof perversion;for they say,'The LORDhas forsakenthe land,and the LORDdoes not see!'
Then Godsaidto Jonah,"Do you have goodreasonto be angryaboutthe plant?"And he said,"I have goodreasonto be angry,even to death."
"Heavenand earthwill passaway,but My wordswill not pass away.
and wheneverit seizeshim, it slamshim [to the ground] and he foams[at the mouth], and grindshis teethand stiffensout. I toldYour disciplesto castit out, and they couldnot [do it]."
and a spiritseizeshim, and he suddenlyscreams,and it throws him into a convulsionwith foaming[at the mouth]; and only with difficultydoes it leavehim, maulinghim [as it leaves].
