My heartcriesout for Moab;His fugitivesare as faras Zoar[and] Eglath-shelishiyah,For they goup the ascentof Luhithweeping;Surelyon the roadto Horonaimthey raisea cryof distressover [their] ruin.
For the cryof distresshas gonearoundthe territoryof Moab,Its wail[goes] as faras Eglaimand its wailingeven to Beer-elim.
ThereforeI say,"Turnyour eyesawayfrom me, Let me weepbitterly,Do not tryto comfortme concerningthe destructionof the daughterof my people."
But let that manbe like the citiesWhichthe LORDoverthrewwithoutrelenting,And let him hearan outcryin the morningAnd a shoutof alarmat noon;
Thussaysthe LORD:"Behold,watersare going to risefrom the northAnd becomean overflowingtorrent,And overflowthe landand allits fullness,The cityand those who livein it; And the menwill cryout, And everyinhabitantof the landwill wail.
"From the outcryat Heshboneven to Elealeh,even to Jahazthey have raisedtheir voice,from Zoareven to Horonaim[and to] Eglath-shelishiyah;for eventhe watersof Nimrimwill becomedesolate.
"Moabis broken,Her littleoneshave soundedout a cry[of distress].
"For by the ascentof LuhithThey will ascendwith continualweeping;For at the descentof HoronaimThey have heardthe anguishedcryof destruction.
