"And the wholevalleyof the deadbodiesand of the ashes,and allthe fieldsas faras the brookKidron,to the cornerof the HorseGatetoward the east,shall be holyto the LORD;it will not be pluckedup or overthrownanymoreforever."
While allthe countrywas weepingwith a loudvoice,allthe peoplepassedover.The kingalso passedoverthe brookKidron,and allthe peoplepassedovertowardthe wayof the wilderness.
So they seizedher, and when she arrivedat the horses'entranceof the king'shouse,she was putto deaththere.
The altarswhich[were] on the roof,the upperchamberof Ahaz,whichthe kingsof Judahhad made,and the altarswhichManassehhad madein the twocourtsof the houseof the LORD,the kingbrokedown;and he smashedthem thereand threwtheir dustinto the brookKidron.
He broughtout the Asherahfrom the houseof the LORDoutsideJerusalemto the brookKidron,and burnedit at the brookKidron,and ground[it] to dust,and threwits duston the gravesof the commonpeople.
So they seizedher, and when she arrivedat the entranceof the HorseGateof the king'shouse,they puther to deaththere.
Abovethe HorseGatethe priestscarriedout repairs,eachin frontof his house.
We have thoughton Your lovingkindness,O God,In the midstof Your temple.
Thussaysyour Lord,the LORD,even your GodWho contendsfor His people,"Behold,I have takenout of your handthe cupof reeling,The chaliceof My anger;You will neverdrinkit again.
"See,I have appointedyou thisdayoverthe nationsand overthe kingdoms,To pluckup and to breakdown,To destroyand to overthrow,To buildand to plant."
"At one momentI might speakconcerninga nationor concerninga kingdomto uproot,to pulldown,or to destroy[it];
"Nowthereforethussaysthe LORDGodof Israelconcerningthiscityof whichyou say,It is giveninto the handof the kingof Babylonby sword,by famineand by pestilence.'
"They will spreadthem out to the sun,the moonand to allthe hostof heaven,whichthey have lovedand whichthey have served,and whichthey have goneafterand whichthey have sought,and whichthey have worshiped.They will not be gatheredor buried;they will be as dungon the faceof the ground.
He caused me to passamongthem roundabout,and behold,[there were] verymanyon the surfaceof the valley;and lo,[they were] verydry.
"They will liveon the landthat I gaveto JacobMy servant,in whichyour fatherslived;and they will liveon it, they, and their sonsand their sons'sons,forever;and DavidMy servantwill be their princeforever.
"I will not hideMy facefrom them anylonger,for I will have pouredout My Spiriton the houseof Israel,"declaresthe LordGOD.
"[The city shall be] 18,000[cubits] roundabout;and the nameof the cityfrom [that] day[shall be], 'The LORDis there.'"
Then you will knowthat I am the LORDyour God,Dwellingin Zion,My holymountain.So Jerusalemwill be holy,And strangerswill passthrough it nomore.
People will livein it, and there will nolongerbe a curse,for Jerusalemwill dwellin security.
In that daythere will [be inscribed] on the bellsof the horses,"HOLYTO THE LORD."And the cookingpotsin the LORD'Shousewill be like the bowlsbeforethe altar.
When Jesushad spokenthesewords, He went forthwith His disciplesoverthe ravineof the Kidron,wherethere was a garden,in whichHe enteredwith His disciples.
