Then Jehoashkingof IsraelcapturedAmaziahkingof Judah,the sonof Jehoashthe sonof Ahaziah,at Beth-shemesh,and cameto Jerusalemand toredownthe wallof Jerusalemfrom the Gateof Ephraimto the CornerGate,400cubits.
Moreover, Uzziahbuilttowersin Jerusalemat the CornerGateand at the ValleyGateand at the cornerbuttressand fortifiedthem.
Then I saidto them, "You seethe badsituationwe are in, that Jerusalemis desolateand its gatesburnedby fire.Come,let us rebuildthe wallof Jerusalemsothat we will nolongerbe a reproach."
Then Eliashibthe highpriestarosewith his brothersthe priestsand builtthe SheepGate;they consecratedit and hungits doors.They consecratedthe wall to the Towerof the Hundred[and] the Towerof Hananel.
He has regardedthe prayerof the destituteAnd has not despisedtheir prayer.
"[It is I] who saysof Cyrus,'[He is] My shepherd!And he will performallMy desire.'And he declaresof Jerusalem,She will be built,'And of the temple,Your foundationwill be laid.'"
"Behold,[the] daysare coming,"declaresthe LORD,"When I will raiseup for Davida righteousBranch;And He will reignas kingand actwiselyAnd dojusticeand righteousnessin the land.
"Thussaysthe LORD,'Behold,I will restorethe fortunesof the tentsof JacobAnd havecompassionon his dwellingplaces;And the citywill be rebuilton its ruin,And the palacewill standon its rightfulplace.
"Behold,daysare coming,"declaresthe LORD,"when I will sowthe houseof Israeland the houseof Judahwith the seedof manand with the seedof beast.
"AgainI will buildyou and you will be rebuilt,O virginof Israel!Againyou will takeup your tambourines,And goforthto the dancesof the merrymakers.
I will restorethe fortunesof Judahand the fortunesof Israeland will rebuildthem as they were at first.
"So you are to knowand discern[that] from the issuingof a decreeto restoreand rebuildJerusalemuntilMessiahthe Prince[there will be] sevenweeksand sixty-twoweeks;it will be builtagain,with plazaand moat,even in timesof distress.
Allthe landwill be changedinto a plainfrom Gebato Rimmonsouthof Jerusalem;but Jerusalem will riseand remainon its sitefrom Benjamin'sGateas faras the placeof the FirstGateto the CornerGate,and from the Towerof Hananelto the king'swinepresses.
"Hothere!Fleefrom the landof the north,"declaresthe LORD,"for I have dispersedyou as the fourwindsof the heavens,"declaresthe LORD.
